Teresa Stewart

Teresa Stewart graduated from Wake Forest University Law School in 2000. Upon graduation, she accepted a position as an Attorney at Womble Carlyle where she concentrated on complex civil litigation and remained there until 2003.  Teresa opened her own law practice in 2007 after gaining several years of valuable jury trial and litigation experience as an attorney with the Public Defender’s Office of Winston Salem and as an Associate Attorney at the Law Office of J.D. Byers from 2003 until 2006. During her time as a Public Defender and as an Associate Attorney at The Law Office of J.D. Byers, Teresa tried many cases in District and Superior Court and brings that experience and expertise to the benefit of the clients she assists at her own firm today.

Teresa’s current focus consists of primarily Criminal cases, including but not limited to, Misdemeanors, Felonies, Serious drug offenses, Violent Crimes (Murder, Rape, Robbery), Appeals, Driving While Impaired, etc. She represents clients in Felony cases up to 2 hours from Forsyth County but travels regularly to represent clients on criminal cases in Stokes, Surry,  Guilford, Davidson, Davie, Yadkin, and Forsyth County. Teresa is licensed to practice in Federal Court in the Western and Middle Districts of North Carolina and is also a standing member of the North Carolina State Bar Association and the 21st Judicial District Bar of Forsyth County.

Teresa enjoys doing community service projects and is an active member and supporter of the Friends of Brenner and Children’s Hospital, Charity Chicks, Senior Services and The Forsyth County Humane Society. She also previously served on the board at Samaritan Ministries and was the Vice President of the Forsyth Criminal Defense Attorneys in 2004.

When Teresa is not spending time with her family, she enjoys shopping with friends, traveling, spending time with her dog, Magi, and hiking.
